Ans- The younger son asked his father to give him half of everything he owned, which would anyway become his when the father died, so that he could go off and have a good time.
2. How did the father respond and why?
Ans- The father responded by counting his money and giving half of it to his younger son because he loved his sons and did not like to see either of them unhappy.
4.What did the father do when his son returned?
Ans- When his son returned the father ran to embrace him with joy. He ordered his servants to bring the best robe, shoes and a ring for him. He also decided to hold a feast and invite their friends and neighbours to celebrate his return.

EX.C How did the younger son make friends? Do you think they were true friends? Give reasons for your answer.
Ans – The younger son made friends by buying them presents and inviting them for a party with good food and music. They were not true friends because when he ran out of money they made fun of him. This shows that they want to enjoy his riches but did not really care for him.
